School Visits

The Severnside Community Rail Partnership runs several school engagement programmes entirely free of charge to participating schools. Visit www.severnside-rail.org.uk for further information on:

• Rail Familiarisation visits for pupils in year 6 of primary school, designed to build confidence in using the railway independently before progressing to secondary school
• Incredible Edible planting, growing and harvesting edible produce in our special cycle stand planters at each station along the Severn Beach line
• The opportunity to display school artwork in poster cases at local stations

To encourage schools to use the local rail service, we may be able to support cost of rail travel for school visits when you chose to travel by rail to local destinations and when you are visiting Discover the Severn Beach Line destinations. GWR Young Great Westerners National Schools Partnership offers Run the Railway – a set of STEM based games, digital resources and challenges for 9-11 year olds. These can be accessed at www.younggreatwesterners.com
